Brass scrap is traded under ISRI code names worldwide, and under local names in Jamnagar. Knowing both avoids the most common disputes.

ISRI code names for brass

ISRI, the US scrap recycling body now called ReMA, publishes code names that buyers and sellers use in contracts everywhere. The brass grades below are the ones most often seen in Jamnagar's imports.

Honey is the ISRI code name for yellow brass scrap: mixed yellow brass solids such as fittings, valves and rod pieces. It is the most traded brass scrap grade in Jamnagar.

What is the difference between Night and Nomad?

Both are yellow brass turnings. Night is turnings from brass rod, and Nomad is yellow brass turnings more generally.
