How We Handle It

• You get a reference as soon as you send the form, and a reply from our team within 2 working days.
• Removal requests from the business itself are actioned once we confirm the request comes from that business.
• Reports about another party's listing are reviewed, and the listing is corrected, hidden or left in place with a reason given to you.
• If you are not satisfied with the outcome, reply to the same email and it is escalated to a founder.

1. How Profiles Are Created

• Starter profiles. We create a profile for a brass manufacturing unit from business information it has already made public, such as its own website or a trade directory entry. These profiles are labelled Unclaimed.
• Claimed profiles. The owner takes over the profile, corrects it and adds products, photos and certificates.
• Contact details are not shown publicly. Once a business has claimed its profile, its contact details are shared with signed-in members.
• Certifications shown on an unclaimed profile are as stated by the company and have not been checked by us.

2. What May Be Listed

• Brass, copper and copper-alloy raw material, components and finished products.
• Products the supplier makes or lawfully supplies, described accurately, with the correct alloy or grade.
• Photos of the supplier's own products.

3. What Is Not Allowed

• Counterfeit goods, or goods carrying another company's brand without permission.
• False certification claims, such as an ISO or RoHS claim without a valid certificate.
• Ammunition components, weapon parts, and any item whose sale or export is restricted by law.
• Stolen material or scrap without lawful origin.
• Products outside the brass and copper-alloy trade.
• Photos, drawings or text copied from another business.

4. Corrections and Removal

Any business may ask us to correct or remove its listing. Use the Grievance and Removal page. Listings that break this policy are hidden, and repeat cases lead to the account being closed.

5. Ranking

Search results show the profiles that match the search. Suppliers on a paid plan are listed first and carry a plan badge.

1. About BrassRoute and These Terms

BrassRoute.com is an online B2B marketplace for the brass industry, operated by BrassRoute from Jamnagar, Gujarat, India ("BrassRoute", "we", "us"). The site is in pre-launch: some services described on it are live and others are marked as planned. A planned service is not on offer until we open it.

BrassRoute is an intermediary within the meaning of the Information Technology Act, 2000. We help buyers and suppliers find and contact each other. We are not a party to any sale, purchase, quotation or contract between users, we are not the agent of any user, and we do not make, hold, inspect, ship, value or guarantee any goods.

These Terms are an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and need no signature. They include the Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, Subscription Terms, Escrow Policy, Cookie Policy and Listing Policy. Where the site is shown in Gujarati or Hindi, the English text of these Terms is the one that applies.

2. For Business Use Only

• The site is for trade between businesses. By using it you confirm that you act for a business and for a commercial purpose, and not as a consumer buying for personal use.
• You must be at least 18, able to enter a contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872, and authorised to act for the business you register.
• You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to your business, including tax, GST, customs, export and import rules, and any licence your trade needs.

3. Accounts

• Give accurate information and keep it up to date. We may ask for documents to confirm your identity or business, and we may refuse or close a registration.
• Keep your password and sign-in codes confidential. You are responsible for everything done through your account. Tell us at once at support@brassroute.com if you suspect misuse.
• One business should keep one account of each type it needs. We may merge or close duplicate or false accounts, including accounts opened to get around a limit.

4. Profiles and Listings

• Some profiles of suppliers and scrap sellers are starter profiles that we compiled from information a business has already made public. They are labelled Unclaimed, have not been confirmed by the business and have not been checked by us.
• A member who claims or creates a profile is responsible for everything on it, including products, photos, catalogues, documents, certifications and company facts, and confirms it has the right to publish that material.
• Labels such as Claimed, GST Verified and Verified buyer describe only the specific check named on the site. A factory visit report records what our team saw on the day of the visit. None of these is a guarantee of quality, capacity, solvency or performance.
• We decide the order in which profiles and listings are shown, and paid plans may be shown before others.
• Any business may ask us to correct or remove its listing through the Grievance and Removal page.

5. Requirements, Quotes and Messages

• Buyers must describe requirements accurately and completely and may post only genuine buying needs. We may limit how many requirements a buyer keeps open, and we may ask a buyer to answer the quotes received before posting again.
• Our team may review a requirement, ask for more detail, decline it, forward it to suppliers whose products match, and show it on the public requirements board without the buyer's name, contact details or files.
• We do not promise that a requirement will receive a quote, that a supplier will receive requirements, or that any business will result from using the site, whether or not a plan has been paid for.
• Quotes are made by suppliers. Prices, lead times and other terms are theirs alone and are not checked by us. A quote becomes binding only as agreed between the buyer and the supplier.
• Messages on the site are private to the two parties. Our team can read a conversation only when one of the parties reports it, or when the law requires us to.
• Drawings and files you attach to a requirement are shared with matched suppliers only if you choose to share them. A supplier who receives a drawing may use it only to prepare a quote for that buyer.

6. Scrap Market

• Posts of scrap for sale or wanted are written by members and are not checked by us. The member who posts is responsible for the description, quantity, price and lawful origin of the material.
• You may deal only in scrap of lawful origin and in line with the import, export, pollution-control and other rules that apply to it.
• When you press "I'm Interested" on a post, you ask us to send your company name, contact person, email and phone number to the member who posted it.
• We may take down any post without notice.

7. Rates, Charts, Alerts and Tools

• Daily rates, charts, averages, spreads and calculators are general market information gathered from trade sources. They are not official or final prices, not an offer to buy or sell, and not financial, trading or investment advice. You rely on them at your own risk.
• Rate alerts and other notices are sent on a best-effort basis. We are not liable if an alert is late or is not delivered.
• Documents you make with the quotation maker are yours. You are responsible for their content, including prices, tax and terms. We are not a party to them.

8. Your Own Checks

You are responsible for checking the other party before you trade: its identity, GST registration, product quality, samples, payment terms and bank details. Start with a sample order, and never pay into an account that does not match the company name. BrassRoute does not hold payments between buyers and suppliers; an escrow service is planned and is not yet available.

9. Fees, Taxes and Payments

• Creating an account and using the site is free during pre-launch. We may end the pre-launch period, and open or change paid plans and services, at any time.
• When paid seller plans or add-on services are open, the price and what it covers are shown before you pay, payments are taken through our payment partner, and the Subscription Terms and Refund Policy apply. Prices are exclusive of GST and other taxes unless stated.
• Amounts paid are not refundable except as the Refund Policy says. If a payment is reversed or charged back without good reason, we may suspend the account until it is settled.
• We may change, add or withdraw features and prices. A price change does not affect a period you have already paid for.

10. Your Content

• You keep ownership of the content you upload. You give BrassRoute a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, store, copy, display, translate, format and distribute that content on the site, in search results and in our marketing of the marketplace, for as long as it is on the site and for a reasonable period afterwards.
• You confirm that your content is accurate, that you have the right to publish it, and that it does not infringe anyone's rights or break any law.
• We may show your business name and logo to identify you as a member of BrassRoute. Write to us if you prefer that we do not.
• If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them freely.

11. Prohibited Conduct

• Listing or trading counterfeit, stolen, sanctioned or legally restricted goods, or scrap of unlawful origin.
• False or misleading claims, including certifications you do not hold, and requirements or posts that are not genuine.
• Impersonating another person or business, or claiming a profile that is not yours.
• Harassment, spam, or sending unsolicited marketing to contacts obtained from the site.
• Posting anything that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, invasive of privacy, harmful to children, infringing, deceptive about its origin, or a threat to the security or sovereignty of India, or any other content barred by the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
• Copying the directory in bulk, scraping, automated access, reverse engineering, probing or disrupting the site, or getting around a limit or a security measure.
• Any use that breaks Indian law or the law that applies to you.

12. What We May Do

• We may, at our discretion and with or without notice, remove or edit content, decline a requirement, quote or post, limit features, and suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, puts other users or BrassRoute at risk, or stays unused for a long period.
• We are not obliged to monitor content, but we may do so, and we will act on a court order or a lawful direction from an authority.
• We may keep records of an account and its content after it is closed, for as long as the law requires or allows, and we may share information with authorities where the law requires it.
• We are not liable to you or anyone else for acting under this section.

13. Intellectual Property

The BrassRoute name, logo, site design, software, text, the daily rate records and the compilation of the directory belong to BrassRoute and are protected by copyright, trade mark and other laws. You may view the site for your own business dealings. You may not copy, republish, sell or reuse any part of it, or build a competing directory or database from it, without our written permission.

14. Messages from Us

By creating an account you agree that we may contact you by email, SMS, WhatsApp and phone about your account, requirements, quotes, messages, alerts and payments. We send news and offers only where the law allows, and you can opt out of those at any time.

15. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify BrassRoute, its owners, staff and partners, and keep them harmless, against any claim, loss, penalty, cost or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your content, your dealings with another user, your breach of these Terms or of any law, or your infringement of another person's rights.

16. Disclaimer

• The site and everything on it are provided "as is" and "as available", for general guidance, without any warranty of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a purpose or uninterrupted availability.
• We do not endorse any user, product, quote, post or listing, and we do not guarantee the conduct, identity or solvency of any user.
• Links to other websites and services run by third parties, such as payment and messaging services, are used at your own risk and under their terms.

17. Limit of Liability

• To the fullest extent the law allows, BrassRoute is not liable for loss arising from dealings between users, including quality, quantity, delivery, payment, taxes or fraud by another user.
• To the fullest extent the law allows, BrassRoute is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, business, opportunity, goodwill or data.
• Our total liability to you for all claims is limited to the amount you paid BrassRoute in the three months before the event that gave rise to the claim, or ₹1,000 if you paid nothing in that period.
• Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law.

18. Events Outside Our Control

We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by something outside our reasonable control, including failures of hosting, internet, payment or messaging services, cyber attacks, acts of government, natural events and labour disputes.

19. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. We will first try to settle any dispute with you by discussion within 30 days of written notice. If that fails, the courts at Jamnagar, Gujarat have exclusive jurisdiction. BrassRoute may ask any competent court for urgent orders to protect its rights or its users.

20. Complaints and the Grievance Officer

Complaints about content on the site or a breach of these Terms can be sent through the Grievance and Removal page or to support@brassroute.com. Our Grievance Officer acknowledges a complaint within 24 hours and aims to resolve it within 15 days, as the Information Technology Rules, 2021 require. The officer's name is shown on the Grievance and Removal page.

21. General

• We may update these Terms as the service develops. The effective date above shows the latest version, and we may notify registered users by email of a material change. Continuing to use the site after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
• We may transfer our rights and duties under these Terms to another entity, for example when the business is registered as a company or firm or is reorganised. You may not transfer yours without our written consent.
• If a court finds part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce a right at once, we have not given it up.
• These Terms and the policies they include are the whole agreement between you and BrassRoute about the site. Nothing in them creates a partnership, agency or employment between you and us.
• Sections 10, 13, 15, 16, 17, 19 and 21 continue to apply after your account is closed.

1. Information We Collect

You give us

Account details: your name, company name, account type, email, mobile number, city, country and, if you choose, your GSTIN. Profile content: products, photos, your logo, catalogues, documents and certificates you upload, certifications and company facts. Requirements, drawings and files you post, quotes you send, messages you exchange with another member, and anything you write to us through a form or by email.

We collect automatically

Technical records needed to run and protect the site, such as your IP address, the time of a request and failed sign-in attempts. We also keep daily totals of search terms, profile views, page loads and visits to understand demand. To count a visit once a day, a marker is kept in your browser; it carries no name or identifier. Those totals are not linked to any person.

If you arrive through a link we emailed or shared, we note which link it was and, if you then register or post a requirement, we keep that with your account so we know which outreach is useful. For introduction emails we send to businesses, our email provider tells us whether the message was delivered or bounced.

We compile from public sources

Starter profiles of suppliers and of scrap sellers are built from business information that a company has already published, such as its website or a trade directory entry. Contact details from those sources are not shown on the site. A business can have its listing corrected or removed at any time from the Grievance and Removal page.

Payments

When online payments are open they are handled by our payment partner, Razorpay. We receive the payment reference, amount and status. We do not receive or store your card, UPI or net-banking details.

3. Who Sees Your Information

• Other members. A supplier's public profile is visible to everyone. Contact details of a supplier that has claimed its profile are shown to signed-in members. Suppliers who receive a requirement see its details but not the buyer's name or contact details. In a conversation, each party sees the other's company name and the messages. The company profile you fill in (company facts, logo, photos, documents and certificates) is shown to signed-in members only: for sellers and scrap members once the account is confirmed, and for buyers only if they tick the box to show it. Your name, email and mobile number are shown to signed-in members only if you tick the box to share them, and you can untick it at any time. In the scrap market, a member's company name, city, country and scrap grades are public.
• Our team. Authorised BrassRoute staff, with access limited by role.
• Service providers who process data for us: a cloud hosting provider (servers in Singapore), an email delivery provider, our business email provider, and Razorpay for payments.
• The drawing reader, only if you use it. When you tick the box on the requirement form and press "Read My Drawing", the first page of your file and any text in it are sent to an outside AI service to suggest entries for the form. The form names the service before you agree. We do not send drawings to it in any other case, and we do not keep the image or the reply for this purpose.
• Authorities, when the law requires it.
• Scrap posts. A scrap post you write is public, with your company name and place. Your phone number and email are not shown. When you press "I'm Interested" on someone else's post, your company name, contact person, email and phone number are sent to that member.
• Private to you. Your shortlist, your rate alerts and the quotations and other documents you make with the quotation maker are visible only to you. Requirements shown on the public board never carry the buyer's name, contact details or files.

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with advertisers.

4. Security

• The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
• Passwords are stored only as salted one-way hashes. We cannot read your password.
• Sign-in codes are short-lived and stored only as hashes. Drawings and files attached to requirements are private and are not publicly reachable.
• Access to data is restricted by role, and administrative actions are logged.

No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach affecting your personal data we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

5. Your Rights

You may ask us for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, withdraw a consent you gave, and nominate a person to act for you. You can edit most account details yourself in My Account, where you can also download the data we hold about your account and ask us to delete the account. Write to support@brassroute.com with "Privacy request" in the subject and we will respond within 15 working days. If you are not satisfied you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India once it is in operation.

6. How Long We Keep It

• Account and profile data: while the account is open, and for a limited period afterwards where needed for disputes or legal obligations.
• Payment and invoice records: for the period tax law requires.
• Technical security records: for a short period.

8. International Users

BrassRoute is run from India and its servers are in Singapore. If you use the site from another country, your information is processed in those places.

Under our fair-deal promise, if we send you no buyer requirement in the first 90 days of a paid plan, we add 90 days to the plan at no charge. This is an extension of the plan, not a refund.

2. Extra Quotes

• A pack of extra quotes is refundable in full if you ask within 7 days of payment and have not used any of it.
• Extra quotes that have been used are not refundable, whatever the outcome of the requirement they were used for.
• If we withdraw the service, unused purchased extra quotes are refunded.

3. Add-on Services

Services with a quoted price, such as a factory audit or product photography, are refundable in full until work has started. Once work has started, the refund is reduced by the cost of the work done, which we will explain to you.

4. Payments Between Buyers and Suppliers

BrassRoute does not hold or process payments between buyers and suppliers. Refunds, returns and disputes on an order are a matter between those two parties. An escrow service is planned; its terms will be published before it opens.

5. How to Ask

Email support@brassroute.com with "Refund request" in the subject, your registered email address and the payment reference shown in My Account. We acknowledge within 2 working days and decide within 7 working days.

6. How Refunds Are Paid

Approved refunds are sent to the original payment method through our payment partner. Banks usually credit the amount within 5 to 7 working days after we start the refund.

7. Your Legal Rights

Nothing in this policy limits rights you have under law that cannot be excluded.

The amount you will pay, including any tax that applies, is shown at checkout before you confirm. Prices may differ from this table if we have announced a change or an offer. Buyers do not need a plan: posting requirements and comparing quotes are free.

2. No Automatic Renewal

A plan is a single prepaid period of one year. It does not renew by itself and we do not store your payment details or charge you again. To continue, buy the plan again. Buying the same plan before it ends adds one year to the end of the current period. When a plan ends, your account returns to the Free plan and your profile stays.

3. What a Plan Includes

A plan includes the features marked as live on the Pricing page at the time you buy it. Features marked as planned are not part of what you are paying for until they open. When a planned feature opens during your period, you get it at no extra charge. The factory visit in BrassShield is carried out by our team in and around Jamnagar at a time agreed with you.

4. Quotes and Extra Quotes

• Each plan allows a number of quotes in a calendar month, counted in India time. A quote is counted the first time you quote on a requirement; changing that quote later is not counted again.
• Unused monthly quotes do not carry over to the next month.
• Extra quotes are added to your account when the payment is confirmed. They are used only after the month's quotes run out, and they do not expire while your account remains open and in good standing.
• Extra quotes have no cash value and cannot be transferred to another account.
• While the marketplace is free in pre-launch, quotes are not limited.

5. Founding Members and the Fair-Deal Promise

• A seller who created an account or claimed a profile before launch is a founding member. A founding member pays half the listed price for any plan, for two years counted from the first plan payment.
• If we send you no buyer requirement in the first 90 days of a paid plan, we add 90 days to that plan at no charge, once in each plan period.

6. Changing Plan and Suspension

You can buy a different plan at any time. The new plan starts when you pay and replaces the current one. Extra quotes you already hold stay in your account. If we suspend or close an account for breaking the Terms of Service, the plan ends and unused extra quotes are forfeited.

7. Price Changes

We may change prices for future purchases. A change never affects a period you have already paid for.

8. Receipts

Every payment is confirmed by email and listed in My Account with its reference. If you need a tax invoice for a payment, ask support and we will provide what the law requires of us at the time.

1. What Escrow Is For

Escrow is intended to protect both sides of an order: the buyer's payment is held by a licensed payment partner and released to the supplier once the buyer confirms delivery.

2. How It Is Intended to Work

• The buyer accepts a quote and pays the order amount to the licensed partner.
• The supplier is told that the payment is secured and starts production or dispatch.
• The buyer confirms delivery and the partner releases the payment to the supplier.
• If there is a dispute, the payment stays held while it is resolved.

3. Planned Fee

We plan to charge a platform fee of 0.5% of the order value, plus the payment partner's charges and any tax that applies. The final fee will be confirmed before launch.

4. Until Escrow Opens

You deal with the other party directly, so check them carefully: confirm the GST registration, ask for samples, agree terms in writing, and never pay into a bank account that does not match the company name. See the Safety page for guidance.

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.

2. Third Parties

• Fonts. The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when your browser requests them.
• Payments. When you pay, the Razorpay checkout window may set its own cookies under Razorpay's privacy policy.

3. Your Choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the session cookie you will not be able to stay signed in.
